We are a non-profit association

What we do

The non-profit Elbhangfest e. V. was founded in 1991. Since then, a circle of three dozen enthusiasts – supported by a small office – has managed the annual organisational effort for the Elbhangfest on a voluntary basis.

“Self-made” is the festival to a large extent still today and could hardly exist otherwise – residents open their gardens, artists their studios, craftsmen move the tables outside for their trade.

What YOU can do

New interested parties, idea providers and helpers are always welcome!

In our “festival committee” you can continuously contribute to the preparation and success of the festival. Or you can support the Elbhangfest by becoming a member of the association, which meets twice a year.

You can also support our work with a donation!

“Based on the character and content of the 1st Elbhangfest in 1991 under the motto ‘From Bähr to Pöppelmann’, the ‘Elbhangfest e.V.’ is committed to preserving the cultural identity of the unique urban landscape of the Dresden Elbe slope between Loschwitz and Pillnitz with its typical features.
These include: River landscape, side valleys, old village centres, open villa development and park landscape.
The association is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Elbhangfest and guarantees its character and content as a festival of local history, art and culture, as a city and landscape festival of free citizens.”
